The JV girls finished out their season yesterday with a 5 set thriller losing to Co

lon in the 5th set by the score of 15-13. The girls battled back after going down the first 2 sets, 25-16, 25-20, and then coming back and winning 25-18, and 25-22. Rowan Hagenbach had an amazing game capturing 15 kills, Jordan Manni had 18 assists, Isa captured 7 kills, and one block. Sophia Moncel had multiple digs and saves for her team, Aeryn Yarbrough had 8 digs and Kennedy Clapp had 3 digs. The girls had an amazing season with so much growth and development.

10-20 - JV Quad

The girls started their night off against a tough Three Rivers team, with two tight scoring sets, 25-21, and 25-19. Jordan served us out in set 1 with many aces and defensive plays. I am super proud of the effort these girls showed in this game. Isa had a few block touches and had some great digs. Kennedy came in the game to serve and got all of her serves over in this game which was super crucial in this tight game.

We then played against a very scrappy Battle Creek Central and did not pull away with the win, They had a few really tall girls that had great blocking skills, and smart tips. The girls were disappointed with this loss but prepared to move on and play against Bridgman. The Bridgman team had a lot of offensive and we struggled to keep up with their hitting.  Not the greatest last home match but thankful for the effort the girls showed.

10-18 - Comstock - White Pigeon

Ending our single game season with some tight sets, 25-19, and 25-22 against White Pigeon. The girls had amazing defense and some pretty smart offensive plays as well. Rowan had many kills this game including a few dumps that earned some points, Harmoniey set very well including about 15 assists. Aeryn was pulled up to Varsity this game and had a few digs, and served really well!!

10-15 - Martin Invitational

At the Martin Invitational , the girls started hot right in the morning and beat Otsego, the next game ended up losing to Martin. Rowan served the girls out in the first game with multiple aces.  We then pulled a hard draw, Watervliet and our back row struggled on serve receive and we could not get back on track. The girls ended their day with a loss against Galesburg but overall came out with positive things to look back on.

10-13 - Comstock JV Tri

In this home tri we played Bangor and Bloomingdale, both conference teams. We ended up beating Bloomingdale in both sets with many successful rallies. Sophia had a lot of aces and played the back row very well. Lots of really good communication and new leadership coming in clutch and showing a positive attitude. Cahdejah Vaughn collected her first career point! Against Bangor our team struggled a bit and ended up falling to them. We had many good rallies but could not seal a win against this scrappy team.

10-11 - Comstock 0 - Paw Paw 2

The volleyball teams traveled to Paw Paw to play a non-conference match. The girls battled a tough Paw Paw team and had some hard-fought losses. Our JV girls ended up splitting the first two sets and then losing the tie breaker set. We were down half of our starting 6 and played amazing. A lot of people stepped up when they needed to. 9-27 - Comstock 1 - Marcellus 2
Tough loss for our JV girls. The girls fought hard and ended up losing to Marcellus. A lot of miscommunications caused us some tough losses in close games. We did end up winning the 3rd set. Kennedy Clapp did have 1 dig and Isa had a few aces, Harmoniey had about 22 assists.

9-24 - Constantine Invitational
An off day for our girls in Constantine. Next, we played Portage Northern, a class A volleyball powerhouse and ended up losing 25-20 in the first set and losing the second set as well. We played two well fought games against Constantine and Loy Norrix as well but did not sneak out a win. I'm proud of the effort from a short bench of only 8 girls against these big teams.
