To start off the 2025 district tournament, the Comstock Colts took on the Parchment Panthers. Even with some struggles on the mound, the team battled and put up a good defensive front. At the plate against a strong Panther pitcher, Senior Avery Schreiner managed to earn the lone base hit of the game. Even though the Colts were unable to push a run across the plate, the team held their head high and played with pride. Thank you to everyone who supported the team this season!

After a few days of rain, the Colts were able to play again against the Tigers from Allegan and host the 2025 Senior Night to honor: Sophia Moncel, Olivia Peterson, Kylie Blett, Avery Schreiner, and Tonia Albers. The bats were on FIRE tonight, and the team racked up 21 hits throughout both games. Hayleigh Rinehart had a great showing both in the field and at the plate. The team managed to pull out an impressive win in the third inning.

The Colts of Comstock took on the Pennfield Panthers. Even though the score outcome was not what the team wanted, they worked hard to fight back by making plays in the field. With lessons learned and confidence gained, they look ahead to their next matchup with renewed focus and plenty to build on.

In the last conference game of the season, the Comstock Colts took on the Lawrence Tigers. After a rough first inning, the Colts nailed down a strong defensive front and held the Tigers to only 3 runs in the next two innings. The bats came alive in the second game, with Sophia Moncel leading off the inning with a base hit and ended up scoring. The Colts played strong in the field and had a great showing at the plate.

Despite Thursday’s challenges against White Pigeon, the Comstock Varsity Colts found moments of offensive promise in the second game of the doubleheader. Sara Swinehart and Sophia Villa each delivered key hits and RBIs for the Colts, showing solid swings and composure at the plate. Swinehart and Villa worked well together in the heart of the lineup, sparking a rally that gave Comstock early momentum. While White Pigeon capitalized on a big third inning in both games, Comstock continued to demonstrate growth, especially in its ability to get runners on base and manufacture runs. Pitcher Ava Schreiner battled through tough innings with grit, collecting multiple strikeouts in each outing.

The Comstock Varsity Colts showed offensive spark and resilience during Monday’s doubleheader at Marcellus, continuing to build momentum at the plate.In Game 2, the Colts out-hit Marcellus 4-3, led by Ava Schreiner’s standout performance. Schreiner went 2-for-2 and drove in two runs with a double in the first inning, helping Comstock strike first and set the tone early. Sophia Moncel also contributed an RBI, showing strong contact against Marcellus’s pitching.

The Comstock Varsity Colts continued to battle through a tough schedule, showing determination in Thursday’s doubleheader against a strong Centreville team. In Game 1, Sophia Moncel continued her consistent presence at the plate, recording Comstock’s lone hit against a sharp Centreville pitcher. Olivia Peterson showed stamina in the circle, working through two innings despite Centreville’s big second inning.Game 2 saw Peterson return to the mound, striking out two and limiting Centreville to just four hits, with the majority of runs coming from early defensive mistakes. Comstock worked to settle in defensively after a challenging start. Despite the final scores, the Colts are gaining experience and showing continued effort and resilience.

The Comstock Varsity Colts continued to show offensive growth and individual highlights during Monday’s doubleheader against a sharp Hartford squad, despite falling short in both games.In Game 1, Sophia Villa had a perfect day at the plate, going 2-for-2 to lead the Colts in hits. Olivia Peterson drove in two runs, while the Colts put together five hits overall, staying aggressive at the plate. In Game 2, the offense continued to produce, with hits from Peterson, Ava Schreiner, Kylie Blett, and Sophia Moncel. Schreiner drove in Comstock’s run, while the team collected four hits against a tough Hartford defense that committed no errors.While Hartford surged early in both games, Comstock’s consistent contact at the plate, reflect a team gaining experience and building chemistry.

The Comstock Varsity Colts continued to compete with heart and effort in Thursday’s doubleheader against a powerful Cassopolis team, showing bright moments despite the final scores. In Game 1, Sophia Moncel and Jazlyne Davis each delivered a hit and an RBI, helping Comstock get on the board.The Colts also executed a clean double play, highlighting their defensive awareness. In Game 2, Sophia Moncel stayed hot at the plate with another hit, and Kylie Blett added one of her own. Ava Schreiner limited Cassopolis to just six hits across three innings and showed control in stretches.While Cassopolis capitalized on early offensive bursts in both games, Comstock’s continued grit, contact at the plate, and flashes of defensive execution reflect a team still developing and battling.

The Comstock Varsity Colts faced a tough challenge on Monday, taking on a strong and disciplined Decatur team in a doubleheader. While the final scores didn’t favor Comstock, the team continued to show resilience and growth amid tough competition. In the first game, Olivia Peterson recorded the Colts’ only hit, and despite Decatur’s offensive surge, Comstock remained committed and battled through all three innings. In game two, Kylie Blett and Sara Swinehart each tallied a hit, and Ava Schreiner showed determination in the circle against a relentless Decatur lineup.The Colts continue to show hustle and effort, with multiple players putting the ball in play and staying engaged in all phases of the game.

The Comstock Varsity Colts showcased offensive firepower and resilience in a pair of high-scoring matchups against Bloomingdale, despite ultimately falling short in both games.In the first game, standout hitter Sophia Moncel led the offense with a perfect 3-for-4 performance at the plate. Comstock out-hit Bloomingdale 9-4, with Olivia Peterson and Ava Schreiner helping spark early scoring. The Colts also demonstrated aggressive base running with four stolen bases and turned a double play, showing bright spots in all phases of the game.The second game was a dramatic back-and-forth battle that ended in a narrow 21-20 loss. Comstock’s offense erupted for 13 hits, including three each from Peterson and Schreiner. Burza and Schreiner both drove in three runs, and Moncel delivered a RBI single in the third inning. Despite the loss, the Colts' offensive consistency and never-give-up attitude were on full display.

The Comstock Varsity Colts fell to Bangor in a lopsided 17-1 loss on Monday. Bangor steadily built their lead over the first few innings before exploding for seven runs in the sixth. Despite a tough loss to a strong Bangor team, the Comstock Varsity Colts showed resilience and flashes of potential in Monday’s matchup. Nadia Sivley, Jazlyne Davis, and Sophia Villa each recorded hits, contributing to Comstock’s offense. Gianna Swager had a solid relief outing, allowing no hits or runs in her brief appearance. While Bangor capitalized on walks and timely hitting, Comstock continued to battle.

Starting off the 2025 season with a match-up against Kalamazoo Hackett. This young team was excited to get their season underway. The Colts struggled at the plate, going 0 for 10, but held down the infield, making good plays. In the second game, the bats woke up and we scored 3 runs early on. We couldn’t catch up with the Hackett offense, but we look forward to an exciting season.
