The Men's Wrestling Team competed Wednesday night at team districts. The Colts won their first match against Parchment 59-24 to advance to the district final. In the final, Comstock wrestled a very tough Schoolcraft team. Comstock would go on to lose the match 60-15. The team portion of the wrestling season is now over for the Colts. Comstock finished the season with 19 wins, a school record for wins in a season, and it's first ever conference championship in wrestling.

The Men's Wrestling team hosted a BCS Conference Quad Wednesday night, where they wrestled Benton Harbor and Berrien Springs.  The Colts started strong, defeating Benton Harbor 51-27. Comstock finished the night by dominating Berrien Springs 66-11.  Wrestlers going 2-0 on the night: Markeyis Boland (119), Victor Plaacencia (130), Connor Nolan (135), Jesse VanAvery (140), Leo Juarez (145), Brandon Bavin (160), and Cameron Gilley (171). Nolan and Bavin each had 2 pins. By defeating Berrien Springs, Comstock has now tied the school record for most dual meet wins in a season. A win on Wednesday against Parchment will put this year's team in sole possession of that record.

1-20 - Comstock Team Tournament

Comstock's Men's Wrestling team hosted a team tournament this weekend and came away with a 3-2 record on the day. The team was led by Aaron Alvarado (125 lbs), who went 5-0 on the day and Brandon Bavin (152 lbs), who also went 5-0 on the day. Alvarado's record was good enough to earn him the title of the tournament's Most Valuable Wrestler. 
Comstock is now 15-8 on the season. This Wednesday, they will host a BCS conference quad against Berrien Springs and Benton Harbor, where they will have the opportunity to clinch the regular season BCS title and tie Comstock's all time record for team wins in a season (17).

Comstock's Men's Wrestling team traveled to Parchment Wednesday night for a BCS Conference Quad. Comstock defeated Niles Brandywine 48-35 in the first dual of the evening. The Colts then defeated Buchanan 54-25.  Comstock is now 12-6 on the season and 4-0 in the BCS Conference.

1-13 - Parchment Invitational

Comstock High School Wrestling competed in Parchment's Super Dual tournament Saturday, finishing 3-2 and taking 3rd place overall.  Comstock started the day with a tough loss to a talented Gull Lake team 60-19. The Colts then defeated Fennville 54-18 and Hartford 48-27 to finish pool play.  Comstock wrestled well against Climax-Scotts/Martin, but ultimately fell 46-21 in the semifinals. Comstock finished the day beating Central Montcalm 47-30 to claim 3rd place.  The Colts were led by Aaron Alvarado 5-0, Rodrigo Juarez 5-0, Cameron Gilley 4-1, and Brandon Bavin 4-1.

The wrestling team traveled to New Buffalo Wednesday for BCS Conference matches against New Buffalo and River Valley. The Colts defeated River Valley 41-24 to start the night. Then they defeated New Buffalo 60-11.  Wrestlers going undefeated on the night: Markeyis Boland, Skylar Switzer, Victor Plaacencia, Connor Nolan, Dino Sivley, Brandon Bavin, Cam Gilley.  
Comstock will complete in a team tournament at Parchment this Saturday. 

12-30 - Comstock Varsity Invitational


Comstock hosted an individual tournament on Saturday, December 30th. Nine Colts placed in the top four in their respective weight classes. Aaron Alvarado, Connor Nolan, Cameron Gilley, and Skylar George each took second place. Dino Sivley took first place. As a team, the Colts took second place. This is the second such finish for Comstock this season.  On Wednesday, Comstock travels to New Buffalo for a BCS Conference Quad. On Saturday, the team will compete in the Parchment team tournament.

12-16 - Gull Lake Invitational

The wrestling team competed in the Gull Lake team tournament on Saturday, where they finished 1-4. Cameron Gilley went 5-0 on the day, while Aaron Alvarado and Connor Nolan each went 4-1 on the day. The Colts are off for two weeks until they host an individual tournament on December, 30th.

12-13 - Comstock 60 - Cassopolis 12


The wrestling team traveled to Decatur Wednesday night. They defeated Decatur 48-18. Then, they beat Cassopolis 60-12. The team is now 4-0 on the season.  Wrestlers who went 2-0 on the night: Markeyis Boland, Skylar Switzer, Victor Plaacencia, Connor Nolan, Cameron Gilley, Tyler Kuivenhoven and Leo Juarez.   This Saturday, the team will complete at Gull Lake in a team tournament. 

12-8 - Olivet Invitational

The wrestling team traveled to Olivet on Friday night to complete in an individual tournament. The team took second place at the tournament, with nine wrestlers finishing in the top four at their weight class.

The wrestling team traveled to Webberville Wednesday night for their first team dual meets of the season. The Colts defeated Webberville 68-6 to start the night, then defeated Waverly 60-22.  Wrestlers that went undefeated on the night: Randy Powell, Aaron Alvarado, Rodrigo Juarez, Connor Nolan, Jesse VanAvery, Dino Sivley, Brandon Bavin, Cameron Gilley, John Curry, Skylar George, Leo Juarez, and Johnny Warren.  The Colts travel to Olivet on Friday where they will attempt to defend their 1st place finish from last season. Great job Colts.
