I graduated from Western Michigan University where I received both my Bachelors and Masters Degrees. I have worked with students with numerous disabilities ages 6 months to 26 years of age. I have been married for 31 years, and have two adult children. I love working with students who have diverse needs. I am also a Licensed Educational Kinesiology Consultant and Brain Gym® Instructor
Brain Gym, Zones of Regulation and Social Thinking
I incorporate Brain Gym® into our classroom everyday in the Resource Room. Brain Gym is made up of simple fun movements and activities that enhance whole brain learning. Learning becomes easier and these activities are very effective to improve focus, attention, academics, behavior and physical movement. Your kids will be coming home showing you all sorts of activities and movements. The Zones of Regulation® curriculum will be used to foster self-regulation and emotional control. Students will be able to identify when they need to regulate their behavior and the tools they need to use to help with their regulation. Finally, I will be working on teaching social problem solving, social emotional interpretation and social skills using Michell Garcia Winner's Social Thinking® curriculum.
